When it is Google, fun and utility both are expected hand-in-hand. That’s what is just done in its newly launched AR app, Just a Line. The app allows you draw white lines in the air.
The search engine giant has called it an AR experiment as only white lines can be drawn with this. In the advertisement for the app, Google demonstrates the amazingly fun ways to use it. The drawings reminds one of Snapchat filters where props become embedded on our faces on screen, here the drawings are just floating in the air. And if you’re clever with it and draw hoops in the air that you can skateboard through, the lines sometimes look real.
The app is based on the company’s previous app, Tilt Brush, which lets you paint in 3D space with virtual reality. Tilt Brush only works with VR-compatible devices though, so Just a Line is a lot more accessible. All you’ll need is a phone that supports ARCore, such as the Google Pixel 2, OnePlus 5, Zenfone AR, LG V30, or any of the latest Samsung Galaxy phones.
