What if I tell you that you yourself can turn into a superman and fly around the world?
From the mighty Himalayas to the Sahara desert to the Caribbean, from the Empire State Building to the Christ the Redeemer to the Pyramids to the Taj Mahal, you can go wherever you want just in a jiffy. Also, touch the limitless sky and come back on planet earth.
Sounds crazy? Well, VR does mean thinking and doing the craziest and the most unimaginable.
The search engine giant, Google has now introduced Google Earth VR. Powered with the millions of downloads it has of almost every nook and cranny on the planet on Google Earth, it has turned it into an exhilarating virtual tour around the planet. In its blogpost, it says, “With Earth VR, you can fly over a city, stand at the top of the highest peaks, and even soar into space”.
The scope of this project is remarkable, but this isn’t Google’s maiden venture to bring VR to our desktops. It’s 3D painting title, Tilt Brush, has been a rage amongst VR enthusiasts and artists across the globe for the immersive creative experience it offers. The persistence to still improve it keeps the passions high and leaving the users drooling for more.
Earth VR will first be launching first for HTC Vive through the Steam store and will be available for free.
